Active Hang Block

Hi all,

I have a question. On the Northwing website, they sell active Hang Blocks (pictured below). I don't know anything about them, other than that the A frame attaches directly to the Hang Block.

According to Northwing,

"The new Active Hang Block provides even more positive stability in rough air, requiring less control-input from the pilot, and also gives lighter handling pressures while initiating turns".

Does it really make a lot of difference. If anyone is using them then I would like to hear your comments and views about it.

Regards,

Rizzy

It makes a HUGE difference, and also not unique to Northwing. Other trike wings use them also (Air Creation, REVO, ,,,,) See here for some discussion on this..

I would love to do this to my Profi TL but I'm too chicken to experiment with it. I have a brand new design NW hang block too! Would need to have a Delrin milled to accept the Aeros keel tube diameter. I think it would reduce my roll pressure which is the pretty stiff. Maybe one day I'll PM one of you Guru's to gain some courage.

Thanks Ken! I didnt understand how the Active Hang block works before. Then i saw the disscussion and I unerstand them now! Nobody showed me the AHB when I was in the USA and Im sure most of wings were using it there. Great idea!
