Some say John "Ole" Olson ( @wingedgringo ) is crazy or weird for mentioning that several fatalities have involved 912 engines.  To paraphrase "912s are killing people !!"   What do you think?  Do you buy what some in one segment of the industry say---  just the ramblings of a crazy man ?

How 'bout if it was more fully spelled out for you?   "[Irrational trust in the infallibility of] 912s are killing people!"      or   does it have additional meaning as well ?

Thoughts?

I wonder if higher HP leading to smaller and smaller wings could also be a factor/hidden meaning?

I think it is a simple rebuttal to lines like "friends don't let friends fly 2-strokes" How many pilots spend a third of the price of a trike on the engine because they think it makes them safe to do things they wouldn't do in a 2-stroke? Makes as much sense as a BRS being mounted so you can perform aerobatics with a safety margin? If is feels good then go ahead and Just do It, but know the consequence could be death no matter what engine or BRS system or trike you buy. Have your house in order before you fly, just in case.
