History made at YFT in the QuikRRRRRRRRR !!!

I am please to advise that I received my solo certificate last weekend at YFT.

Nothing really unusual about that, except for that fact that I achieved it whilst being trained in a P&M QuikR, the first person in Australia to receive solo status whilst under instruction in this type of trike.

Australian trike flying is dominated by Airbournes, so instructors teach people how to fly in these aircraft. I managed to purchase a QuikR prior to being trained and YFT agreed to teach me. I don't think there many trikes around that Peter doesn't know how to fly to be honest.

Anyway my first taste was in a XT912, then progressed to the Tanarg, but my last 10 hours have been behind the bar of the QuikR; these hours could have been shortened had I not been plagued with radio comms issues during my instruction.

YFT informed me that I was the first person in Australia to achieve this status, which was pretty pleasing, however the thanks should really go to both YFT - Peter and Hedgeview-Ken, who both spent many hours giving me first class instruction

Regards Aussie QuikR
