ken and my weedhopper: Revision

we, ken and i had driven his ford 'exploder' dragging a huge trailer to lake alvord, a huge dry lake in south east oregon with my 'weedhopper' ulttralight on it. we were still ttwelve miles away when i had a brain phart, why not stop, assemble the plane and fly it to the lake. so we did. problem is by the time i took off from the dirt road it was almost dark, no sweat, flying at night can't be much dipherent, than day, right? well i had a bright spotlight mounted on top of the 'instrement' panel, (i had mounted dozens of dials, switches and every instrement i could find) hey! sometimes bullshit baphles brains! ( remember no 'ephs'.)  and i had mounted a windshield, which had piced up a lot of dust, on the inside. the spotlight was hooked to a 'home made' flasher and as soon as i took off i realized that it wasn''t gonna work, the reflection off the dusty windshield, every two seconds ,in the dark, was blinding me, so i managed to rip the wiring off the light. also, my wooden prop was light coloured and reflected really well! in front was inpenetrable darkness, i was able to follow kens lights and at about 100ft behind him was doing ok till some powerlines whipped by a few feet below me! it got my attention! i backed of and landed on the dirt road in the dust cloud behind ken. he stopped and said 'what's up'? i ttold him we would have to park here till dawn. ken said 'bull-shit, i'll take it. so he did, i tried to get to the dry lake ahead of him but even a lowly 377rotax wheedhopper makes better time than the 'exploder', ken didn't phollow me and arrived over the lake, which was 'wet' in places, but fortunately a couple was camping out and had the sense to turn on their headlights when they heard the rotax, so ken landed ok.
