Pilots prepare for world record-setting flight in microlight
Pilots Richard Foster and Richard Bird are putting the finishing touches on their Ikarus C42 microlight aircraft, which they plan to fly next month 12,500 miles from Goodwood in the U.K., to Cape Town, South Africa. Their trip will be unsupported, and they will land when and where they can. "We might find ourselves in the middle of
the desert," said Foster. "We're just going to see how it goes." They expect the trip to take one month each way.
