As we're closing the year with several unfortunate and tragic events, I have come to realize that it is impossible to anticipate and control every situation. We never stop learning. But it also made me wonder about insurance...

Earlier in the year I actually tried to insure my Tanarg through AOPA, but received a friendly decline back; "we have no underwriting market for weight-shift experimentals."  Till this day I have no insurance (aside from my regular medical). It's making me a bit uneasy, especially going without liability coverage. 

So I'm curious, what's the community view on insuring our belovet sport? Who has his trike insured? Where did you go for it and what did you get covered? And why did you get insurance (or why not)?
