well, i was and did. while blessed with an excellent memory, it doesn't last long and i had forgotten that i had lent my trike to a fixed wing pilot, with many hrs aloft, though not with 'floppy winged craft.' the most recent tragedy involving a 'many hrs' FWP crashing a borrowed trike, fatally, jogged my memory. in 1994 i had taken my trike to a fly-in at Alvord desert, 600mls south of my home. a pilot, well known to me to be an accomplished opperator of most flying things asked to try my trike. he said he had 'a bit' of trike time, so, even though my 'inner voice' you know, the one that screams NO! NO! NO! when you are going to eat another cream filled donut was yelling at me, i shut him up and said sure. well, there was no tragedy, fortunately, the flight went ok, BUT he had on HUGE hob-nailed boots, with 1in thick soles, so had NO brake feed back.  on landing, he locked up the front wheel, the trike did a 'stoppie' up on it's nose, bending the forks back, preventing me from any more flying till i was able to repair it. it meant a wasted 1200 mile trip, a no-fly week-end, and re-inforced my obeyence to the above proverb. (though if Larry were to lend me a REV, preferably yellow, for three or four years, i just might ammend this rule!).....................monty                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    ps. i keep hearing about  'naked trike flying'. is this  a new fad? i personally prefer a flight suit and gloves, am i missing out?  where would i keep my chewing gum?  OH! i know........
