My .02 is that our wings and chassis are very reliable if kept in their respective envelopes and with proper training. It’s our engine choices that I’m not a big fan of. No, we’re not falling out of the sky every week but I don’t get a warm and fuzzy from my 582 and my instructor isn’t a fan of his 912. I understand that due to HP to weight ratios, us LSA types take engineering to the limit but I wish they’d back off that a bit and give us some margin. Dear Santa, I would like to have a 100HP, Fuel injected engine option that doesn’t cost more than my car. Why the hell does my 1300cc Sport Tour Yamaha cost half of those Rotax options! Yes, yes, I know, economies of scale. Phiff, irritating. Until Santa hooks me up I’m stuck with Bing carbs that hate me and an underpowered 582. Frustrating.

Something to consider Scott. We have the same engine, and trike for the most part. However, I think the drag on your current wing is huge. I'd like to see what you think of the 582 once you get your Profi TL on.

I say this because my 582 puts me to the back of my seat on take off, and I cruise at 65mph/5500rpm with no issues.

Last time I went flying I climbed to 1200 feel agl, leveled her out, and pushed the throttle to 6000, trimed the wing forward/fast and hit 80mph with out blinking an eye. I sustained that just under a minute watching my temps which stayed in the green. In fact, it wanted to go faster, but Vne is 87, and I don't like pushing the 582 past 5500rpm for sustained flight.

Granted, my trike has fairings, but still, I think you will see a change in your cruise/top speed withthe new wing.
