Watch THIS video to see what we're thinking about. So, the current plan is to go in early Fall when it's still warm (but not too) and conditions are rather mellow. I will likely fly all the way out, but Ken LP and Doug suggested flying in from close by-- you wouldn't want to drive there (because it is many many many miles of tough washboard road)-- which makes it rare and special to be able to get there, especially by air. Again, you won't want to miss this !! So .... the plan is to start from Lone Pine (which Ken N & I flew out of and LOVED as seen HERE. Very nice place to stay and fly. Spend a night or two at Chicken Strip & the rest in/around the Owens Valley / Lone Pine.

I could fly from havasu it only 214 kn miles. is there food and drink there.
