Central Washington University will host Tom Tabbert for a guest presentation on ice age flood geology, where he’ll show off his breathtaking aerial footage of erosion-carved landforms such as Lake Missoula, Lake Lewis and the Columbia River’s Wallula Gap.
The presentation, “The Ice Age Floods: A Perspective from Above and Within,” starts 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Hebeler Hall Auditorium at CWU.
Tabbert, using video recorded from his trike ultralight aircraft, explores flood features, carved canyons, potholes and scab land washes from the air, offering a new viewpoint for geology buffs, according to a news release announcing the event.
Tabbert graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a geology degree before a career as a naval aviator flying from the U.S.S. Nimitz.
He now works as a consultant in the knee and hip replacement field, and his presentation mixes flying with geology facts.

Looks like @Ttabs has hit the big time. Won't be long before he is putting out full length feature rock u mentaries. I notice that the photo is old though. He's been flying a Tanarg for a couple of years now... Anything to stay young I guess :)
